2-28 New York City - Only steps away from the high school he was too graduate
from in May, 19 year old Andrew Tsai was in a crosswalk when a driver fleeing
a minor collision struck a commercial van, forcing it into the teen. Both
of Andrews legs were completely severed as he was pinned under the van. He
was rushed to the hospital where doctors attempted to reattach the legs.
The female driver was arrested.
2-28 Sacramento, California - 73-year-old Sima Spector killed when
a 19 year old female driver raising from a prior non injury crash, runs a
stop sign and strikes the vehicle he is driving

six injured (some critically) by hit and run driver who crashes into crowd
of party goers waiting on a taxi at the side of the road. Dead and
injured spread along road over 150 meters. Driver abandoned car and
his two children, ages 10 and 4, and fled into woods - since arrested. Emergency
spokesman describes scene using words as total mayhem, horrendous, and total
nightmare and witness' and emergency workers alike are receiving counseling
due to what they saw. Names of those that fell - Abby Hirst, 17, and
her brother, Shane Hirst, 16, Stevie-Lee Weight, 15, and Cassandra Manners,
16, and Cory Dowling, 16, and Josephine "Josie" Calvi, 16. As word
of the tragedy spread thru town, large crowds in the hundreds gathered at
hospital and school to grieve and give support to one another.

in a Subaru station wagon on July 16, 2004, when he was struck by a drunk
driver, who fled the scene. Scott was killed, and his two children injured.
His wife remains in a coma to this day from her injuries. The hit and run
driver, an illegal Mexican immigrant, had 3 prior DUI convictions, but had
never been deported. Today , he pled guilty and was sentenced to 14 to 18
years in prison.
