year old Florida resident Chris Alfonso was killed by a hit and run driver
on Jan 15, 2000. On August 17, 1999, 6 year old Patrick Leahy was left to
die by a hit and run driver in Illinois. In neither of these cases was the
driver captured and yet, it is doubtful they would be arrested if they were
discovered today! The hit and run killer of Barbara Mazick Kifer (October
2, 1987) in Indiana had his 1999 conviction overturned when higher courts
decided he was not prosecuted within the 5 year statutue of limitations.
Ask your congress person to end all state statute of limitations on
felony hit and run prosecution!! Tomorrow, it could be your child that falls
victim.

Today is day 100 for 13 year old James Bussinger of Warminster, Pennsylvania
in the Children's Seashore House in Atlantic City. James suffered a traumatic
brain injury when he was struck by a hit and run driver on December 17th,
2004 while skate boarding with friends. He has not spoken since that day.
Driver surrendered to police. Our hopes and prayers go out to James and his
family.
