regained consciousness this evening and doctors say there appears to be no
permanent brain damage. Ilda was injured, along with her 19 year old cousin
and mother, by a hit and run driver last Monday, in New York City. Her
mother received a broken collar bone and the cousin, Selma Purovic, is
scheduled to undergo surgery on a broken arm Monday. The family are immigrants
from Albania.

After spending 13 years in prison, 53 year old Larry Souter was released
Friday, when a witness came forward and advised she believed her deceased
father was responsible for the hit and run death of 19 year old Kristy Ringler
in August 1979. Souter had been convicted of murdering Ringler by striking
her with a whiskey bottle and had always maintained his innocence. The witness
was not aware of Souter's conviction, but read recently of his appeal. Her
father had passed away a few years back.
