How common are hit and run death's? Phoenix, Arizona - In September 2000,
8-year-old Isaac Hale was killed by a hit and run driver while crossing a
street to get a soda. Less than a year later, his brother, Deyla Carr, 11,
was killed in another hit and run crash. San Diego, California - On October
3, 2003 a female pedestrian killed by two hit and run drivers on Camino Ruiz
near Capricorn Way. The night before, just blocks away at Mira Mesa Boulevard
at Camino Ruiz, another female pedestrian was killed by one, possibly two
hit and run drivers. In February of this year, 9 year Brittani LaFollette
was killed by a hit and run driver in Florida. When her mother discovered
this web site in July, she was appalled to learn that one of Brittani's best
friends, from their time living in Washington state, had lost her mother,
32 year old Laura Farmer, to a hit and run driver earlier that
month.

Three Des Moines, Iowa, police officers are hospitalized
after a hit and run suspect they were chasing jumped into the frigid waters
of the Des Moines River. They jumped in and rescued the subject after he
began to show signs of possible drowning. The suspect is also
hospitalized.

11-15 Victim of minor hit and run possibly saves driver's life. 49 year
old Oliver Jones was driving on I-75 in northern Oakland County, Michigan,
when he was sideswiped by a pickup truck. Calling 911, troopers soon arrived
and pulled the driver of the truck over, only to discover it was being driven
by a 40 year old male in serious medical distress. Rescue crews took the
man to the hospital and the caller was credited for potentially saving the
man, and others, from a possible serious collision.

this month -- six, including three fatalities. ..."There's an absolute
responsibility on people in these types of collisions and it's obviously
to stop and help out wherever you can," said Sgt Steve Ashley of the major
collision investigation unit. "I'm really quite ashamed that we are living
in a society like that at the moment."

a hit and run victim from January 2004. Victim is described as a Latino man
