Gregory McKeown


This memorial is for Gregory McKeown who was hit and killed while bike riding on the early morning of April 2, 2006 by the I-59 interstate on Bush Blvd. Gregory was born December 12,1956, the second born of six children.

Gregory was a loving father, son and brother who's life came to an tragic end by a hit and run driver. He had an extraordinary gift of music, singing and playing the guitar. Greg was a nuturing and dedicated father, Denise was truly the apple of his eye. Greg was extremely warm, loving, caring, cheerful and debonair gentleman who dedicated his life to God, family and friends.

He leaves a legacy of selfless service to others and unyielding persistence and tenacity. Greg had many goals and spirations and sitting idle was not one of them. He had a unquenchable thirst for self improvement and financial wealth,although Greg did not become the millionaire he so desired to be, but his heart and soul were rich and overflowing with kindness, widsom, loyalty and genorosity. He leaves his family with valuable memories of him that will always be cherished.

Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run incident

A 49-year-old man riding a bicycle was killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run incident at the Interstate 59 Bush Boulevard exit in Ensley, authorities said. Gregory McKeown, 49, died in the incident that happened at about 12:50 a.m., Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Jack Parker said. Birmingham police did not have any suspects in the case Sunday night, authorities said.
